At accessiBe, we believe that digital inclusion is the foundation of a high-performing, future-proof website, and this year’s CommerceNext was our opportunity to bring that message to the forefront. To learn more about digital compliance for eCommerce, book a meeting with our sales reps.
Why we attended CommerceNext
At CommerceNext 2025, thousands of retail and eCommerce leaders gathered in New York City to talk about AI-powered personalization, platform innovation, and optimizing digital performance.
The accessiBe team brought one critical conversation still missing from most mainstage agendas: web accessibility.
New York is the #1 state for ADA web accessibility lawsuits. eCommerce is the most targeted industry. And many of the brands at CommerceNext also operate internationally—meaning they’ll soon be subject to the European Accessibility Act (EAA).
Now is the time to act:
- Protect your brand from legal risk
- Make your site accessible to all users
- Prepare for high-traffic seasons
The key to digital compliance
accessiBe launched a hands-on activation that put accessibility front and center.
We scattered physical keys across the venue—each one an invitation to visit Booth 251 and unlock a chance to win Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses.
Some keys opened the prize box. All of them unlocked a bigger conversation:
What does it mean to build a website that works for everyone?
Attendees were curious, engaged, and excited. Some returned with multiple keys. Many stayed to chat. It was more than a giveaway—it was a chance to reframe how we think about compliance and performance.
The missed conversation: Web accessibility
Despite growing awareness around ADA compliance and global regulations like the European Accessibility Act (EAA), few booths addressed accessibility head-on.
Meanwhile, we heard stories about:
- Ongoing lawsuits
- Costly vendor contracts
- Internal advocacy for inclusion that lacked support
Our team came prepared with answers, empathy, and an ecosystem of solutions to meet brands where they are. We shared a new way to think about compliance and performance, with insights from relevant clients who faced similar litigations or wanted to improve their conversion rates.
Why it matters
Today, 1 in 4 adults in the U.S. lives with a disability. Globally, that number is over 1.3 billion. And yet, far too many eCommerce websites remain difficult or impossible to navigate for people using assistive technologies.
This isn’t just about compliance. It’s about:
- Expanding your market
- Improving usability
- Building a brand people trust and want to return to
Accessibility isn’t just a legal requirement. It’s a competitive advantage—especially ahead of the busy holiday season. Accessibility supports performance. It builds loyalty. It strengthens reputation. And it’s never been easier to start.
What’s next
We’re incredibly grateful to the retailers, partners, and industry leaders who took the time to stop by our booth. The conversations were thoughtful, high-intent, and open.
If you didn’t make it to the booth, or want to continue the conversation, we’d love to show you where your brand stands and what you can do next. Book a meeting here.
